Microsoft’s Cloud Connected Services products are like science fiction made reality. Microsoft needed to help demonstrate the possibilities in a way that people could easily comprehend.

To show how powerful the IoT platform is in person, Microsoft and ROMEO brought it to life using a model train for reference. Romeo designed and developed a scale model Sydney Train that integrated into a Microsoft Azure dashboard. Data such as wheel revolutions, lateral cornering force and mechanical vibration were measured through an array of onboard micro-sensors and wirelessly transmitted live to the dashboard, giving people a tactile, unforgettable look at the future of rail network management.

Track Meets Cloud was road showed from Sydney, to Melbourne and Perth. It is currently on display at the Microsoft Technology Centre.
